Chances are, unless you grew up with parents who had a really good and healthy relationship with money, then you have money issues. I'm definitely in the money issues camp, so no shame here! However, I've been doing a lot of work around money over the last few years and I want to share some of this knowledge with you today. Jaclyn Steele:

All right, friends, good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening, whatever time of day it is, well wishes to you thank you for being here. This is episode 128 of self worth with me, Jaclyn Steele. And today's topic is about financial abundance and wanting financial abundance and what I believe you have to do to lay the groundwork to attract it, to make it to keep it. So this is the last episode in the month of August and our theme this month has been abundance. I hope you've enjoyed this theme. As much as I have enjoyed making content for this theme. I feel like the word abundance carries such a high vibrational energy. And so creating content has been so much fun. I'm not gonna lie in the month of July, our theme was judgment detox. And that was a lot harder for me to create content around. I think it's really important subject matter. But moving from judgment, detox into abundance, it just oh, it's felt so freakin good. So here we go. Let's dive right in. Today, we're going to talk about financial abundance. Who doesn't want this? Right? And chances are, unless you grew up with parents who had a really good and healthy relationship with money, then you have money issues. I'm definitely in the money issues camp. So there's no shame here. There's no judgment, I detox from their judgment last month. However, I have been doing a lot of work around money because I've had such money issues over the last few years. And I want to share some of this knowledge with you today because it has been so transformative for me. And my process is that when I learn something, and then put it into practice, I just naturally want to share it, which is why I have this podcast. Because if something's working for me, chances are it's going to work for somebody else. And so I want that information out in the world and making more information babies. So I've been reading financial books for the last few years, especially over the last few months, I've been reading more spiritually based books on money over the last few years. So like a combination of hardcore financial books, and then the more like ethereal spiritual work around money. And I even hired a money coach last year. All that to say, I've done a lot of work. And I've done a real deep dive into my personal relationship with money. And I continue to make this relationship a priority because I haven't mastered it yet. But I am on my way. My goal guys is to be incredibly abundant financially, I would like to make millions and millions of dollars. And I write my money goal every single day, 10 times in the morning and 10 times at night. And overall umbrella goal. It's to have a relationship with money that can be described as joyful. Like, doesn't that just sound nice to think about looking at your bank accounts and feeling joy, or paying for something and instead of feeling fear or anxiety, feeling joy, or giving money to someone and just feeling such a sense of joy. I want to transmute all the years of anxiety and worry, and fear and scarcity that I've had around money into faith and abundance and generosity and joy. I think so often money in talking about money carries a negative connotation. And I think especially for women, admitting that we want to make a lot of money can sometimes come with judgment from others, like there are more important things or you know, why are you so materially focused? And for me, it's not about material possessions, though. I do like nice things. It's more about financial freedom and the ability to lay my head on the pillow at night knowing I'm where I need to be financially and my son is protected and safe and has everything that he needs. And we can go explore the world and do the things that our heart's desire. I want that. So are you with me so far? I hope so. Awesome. I'm going to start while I already started, but I'm going to continue with the show that story. And it's this earlier this year, when I was feeling frustrated regarding money. I asked this question in the Akashic records. Why do I have such trouble managing money? And this is a great question, right? And in order to find answers, we must first ask the right questions, which is why I love the Akashic Record so much. And the answer I got back in the Akashic records to my query of why do I have such trouble managing money was, because you've never managed to before. And I'm laughing as I share this story. And it made me laugh at the time too, and set me straight on my rear end in a very loving way. Also, guys, I do Akashic Record readings, if you're interested, total side note, I've done several podcast episodes on this topic. And I'll drop a link in the show notes to book if you are interested. But anyway, this answer of because you've never managed it before, really got me thinking, I've made money. I've spent money, I've gained money, I've lost money, but I've never really managed it long term. Sure, I've had budgets, and I have stuck to them here and there. But I've never committed to managing my money and building wealth. Part of that was a worthiness issue, which is why I've also done a lot of work around self worth, and why this podcast is called self worth. Because in my experience, and in observing others, we can only have as much money as self worth. Or in other words, the way that we think about ourselves correlates to how much money we are able to keep in the bank. Does that make sense? And it's not about an amount. It's about a level of frequency at which you're operating where you go, I'm worthy of keeping this I'm worthy of building my own wealth, I'm worthy of holding on to this, rather than getting it and spending it. If you have a habit of getting and spending, there is generally some kind of self worth issue happening there. Okay, so anyways, I've gained money have lost it, but I've never really managed it long term. In the past, my husband and I have made money, and sometimes large sums of money. And then naively, just hoped for the best. Yes, we have a savings account and investment accounts, and we invest in real estate. But when we stepped back and looked at how much and how we were spending our money, we realized that there was a lot of room for improvement. So after getting fed up, month after month, I decided I need to take some action and get busy and figure out a better way to manage my money. I'm not where I want to be yet. But this system that I'm going to share with you is the most fun money management system I've ever used. Not only does it help you keep more money, like Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad, Poor Dad says, it's not what you make, its what you keep. But it also includes a fun fund. And this fun fund is used for you guessed it, fun things. So with this system, you treat yourself every month, when I did budgeting before it always felt so restrictive. And I would keep to it for a while through like sheer self discipline, and then just over time, lose that discipline. And then the wheels would fall off. And I would go from being hardcore budgeter to like no budget. And this money management system I'm going to share with you does not feel restrictive, it feels freeing, because you know where your money is, you know how much money you have to spend on necessities, you know how much money you have to spend on fun, etc. I'll go into it. Before I share this system, though, I want to address those of you who have been experimenting with budgets and money management systems that are feeling really skeptical right about now. I get it. Talking about money and managing money and budgets can feel like it's not very much fun. But I would challenge you to change your perspective here. Money management is not about restricting yourself. It's about building wealth for yourself. have real wealth, the kind that will let you sleep soundly at night. And the kind that when you look at your bank accounts, you smile. Does this sound awesome or what? Good because it is, and it's possible for you, you can start with $1 You can start with $10 You can start with 50 and commit to adding to that every week. You can do this and your future self will be kissing your feet, if you do. Today's episode is powered by the golden secrets. Gosh, guys, I'm so pumped to share this with you I have a smile on my face, you could probably hear it as I'm talking. This money management system is from the book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T Harv Eker. I'll drop a link in the show notes. I've talked about this book before. In fact, I've given out some copies on Instagram to a couple of my followers. And I plan on doing more giveaways. So if you want to go follow me on Instagram, Instagram at Jaclyn Steele, you know, I do those very randomly. But I'll put a link to that book in the show notes. I highly, highly recommend if you want to change your money mindset. But this money management system is so simple confession, I'm still new to it. But I'm loving it so far. And I look forward looking at my bank accounts every day, instead of looking at them like twice twice a month with dread and crossed fingers. No more of that. I don't want to do that anymore. So here it is. Number one, you take your income, and you divide it into six categories or six accounts. You can do this however you like. But I actually opened six accounts, I have two savings accounts. And then for checking accounts in my bank, my bank does not cost any money, they don't charge you any money to have other checking accounts. So it works perfectly for me. I'm a Virgo, I like things to be organized. So it's easy for me to see with labels, what each account is, and I did label each account as well, which will be pertinent for the next thing that I have to tell you. So you take your income. And then you have six accounts, your first account, you put 50% of your income in, and it is called a necessities account. This is for all your household and monthly mandatory expenditures, your mortgage or your rent your groceries, your gas, your bills, etc. Then, with 10% of your income, you put it into a financial freedom fund. This is a savings account that you do not touch. It is for your financial freedom. You don't ever touch this money. watch it grow every month and tell me that that doesn't bring you a giant pride filled smile, and such a sense of gratitude and excitement. So 50% goes in your necessities account 10% goes into a fund a financial freedom fund. Then the next 10% goes into a long term savings for spending account. This is money for like a down payment on a house. Things that require a while to acquire and you will be spending this money but not in the short term. Then you put 10% into a fun fun, so 10% of what you make you get to go have fun with and this money is to be spent however you want and get this according to the author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, you're supposed to spend it every month. If you don't treat yourself it will be so hard to stick to managing your money. And you all know the saying All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So don't be dull. Have fun. I went and had a spa day last month with my fun money and it was awesome and so worth it. And not only was it relaxing, being at a spa, but it was extra relaxing and satisfactory knowing that it was all going to be paid for and cold hard cash and that I could totally afford it. Does that resonate with anyone not putting it on a credit card not hoping that you're going to have enough money at the end of the month, etc. Like putting down that money treating yourself and knowing you could really afford it. Okay, your next 10% goes into a giving account And this money is for exactly what it sounds like giving, giving is the greatest secret to abundance that there is. If we want something, whether that be in a relationship, or whatever in the world, we must first give it. If you want more love from your partner, give more love. If you want more trust, give more trust. If you want more money, give more money, then your last 10% of your income you put into an education account. This is for you to learn and grow and invest in yourself. If you want more specifics on this system, I highly, highly recommend Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. Again, I'll link that in the show notes. How does that resonate with you guys? Does that sound like a fairly simple straightforward system? For me, it just resonated so deeply. And I'm loving it because it feels very empowering. So I want to chat more on money in this podcast. Because when I think of women who have high self worth, included in that recipe is a woman who manages her money like a pro. And for me, I'm starting to experiment with investing in the stock market. I am not an expert at all. So I do not feel comfortable giving tips on the investing. Okay, how ever, I will share a few fun things that I've been doing and loving. Number one, I use an app called capital with a Q. So it's Q A P i t a l, you connect it to your debit card, and it rounds up to the nearest dollar on every purchase and automatically puts that money in a savings account. And what I've been doing, because I'm just experimenting with the stock market, and I don't know a lot yet, is using this money, it's usually a couple $100 A month money that collects quickly and doesn't cause me any financial pain or strain, I barely even know it's there, it's fun to go check that account and see how much is in it. I use it to invest in the stock market. So it's really cool, because this money, you know, it's it's 50 cents here to to $1 here, you know $4 From this day over here, and it just adds up and adds up and is in general like a couple $100 a month that I didn't even know I had. And so instead of spending that on, you know, necessities or a handbag or perfume or wallet, whatever, I am using that money to invest in the stock market and see if I can make that money, have some money babies. I use several apps personally, I do have a Roth. And my husband has well we we both have life insurance. And we have a lot of money in real estate. But for me personally, these are three apps that I use myself. One is L vest, which is investing only for women. They help you manage your retirement accounts or investing accounts. Another app is Robin Hood, which allows you to buy and sell stocks on your own. And then an app called public which also allows you to buy and sell stocks on your own. So I'm just checking those experimenting a little bit, seeing what's working, seeing what's not. And I'm really enjoying this process, it feels empowering. And because I'm not taking a huge chunk of money and putting it in and just crossing my fingers. Since I'm still such a noob at this. It doesn't feel like a lot of pressure and it feels like I am investing in myself in a way that will pay off at some point. Another thing I wanted to talk about is I want to build long term wealth. And to build long term wealth. investing money to make more money is absolutely necessary. You have to do this. You can't just leave your money in a savings account. And hope for the best if you want to build long term wealth. We have to educate ourselves about investing. My husband and I invest heavily in real estate. We are a full time real estate investors. That is our primary business. And on that note, this is kind of fun. We recently recorded 10 episodes of brand new podcast called capital valet that will be airing this fall. All 10 episodes will be coming up this fall. And it's about investing your capital in real estate. So if you're interested in this subject mattered matter, be sure to tune in to our new podcast called capital valet. I'll be posting about it on social media. And I'll probably drop it again in this podcast. But anyways, investing in real estate is another really incredible way to build wealth long term. One more thing I want to say about money and investing is let this process be fun. It doesn't have to be such a burden. I've really been enjoying reading books about finance, because they're empowering me to empower myself and my family. I don't want my son Roman to grow up and carry the money issues I've carried. So I'm doing the work to break the chains. I don't want to give you too many more like book recommendations, because I want you to go out and go on Amazon or go to Barnes and Noble. Or go to a friend who knows about finance, and look at what they have. And pay attention to what you're drawn to whatever book it is that you're drawn to. You're drawn to it for a reason. So start there, allow this process to be intuitive and fun. I feel like when we marry knowledge with intuition that puts us in a position to win. To sum up financial abundance, and what you need to do to become financially abundant. There's something I believe to be a universal truth. And it's this, the universe isn't going to give you more money, no matter how hard you try and manifest it. If you aren't first managing your money. We must be great stewards of the blessings we are given. This is a simple perspective change but an incredibly powerful one. I'm sure you've seen the video going around social media that asks, Would you rather have one penny that doubles every day for the rest of your life? Or would you rather have $1 million right now. And the idea is that a penny that doubles every single day over a lifetime is worth well over a million dollars. My only issue with this concept is that I'd like to take that million dollars right now and put every dollar of that into an interest bearing account. Because that million invested over a lifetime with like a 10% return, which is I think average for the stock market would be worth a lot more than pennies doubling every day. But anyway, it's still a very powerful concept. One penny makes a difference. And you can start there, my friends, do what you can with what you have. In the book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. The author talks about how one of his clients started with literally $1 and putting 50% of that in one account, and then taking 10% 10% 10% 10% 10% and dividing it up into the money management system. And then that client that started with $1 committed to doubling her investment over and over and over as much as she could I don't remember if she went weekly or monthly. And she became financially free just by starting with $1. So do what you can with what you have. I know you can do this. I know it. You're so smart and you've stuck with it through this episode so you have what it takes. Now, go apply it blessings, my friends and so much abundance to each and every one of you. Thank you for listening
