Hello, hello, hello and welcome to self worth with Jaclyn Steele to all of my weekly listeners, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for being here, your reviews and your messages light me up and give me fuel to keep going. It is not lost on me that your time is valuable and you being here, it just it means the world to me. If you are new here to self worth than welcome, just a little bit about the show I chat style surrounding self image, spirituality, self expression, abundance, frequency, self care, expanding past upper limits and all kinds of other topics as they relate to our self worth. My goal, when you listen to this podcast is for you to walk away with something tangible, that you can put into practice that same day that will elevate your self worth, and therefore elevate your self belief. This is the good stuff, guys. And it's the good stuff. Because when we show up with high self worth, and self belief, everything changes. We act differently. We see things differently, we think differently. And life aligns for our highest good, because we're vibrating on a high frequencies, we're attracting all of that goodness in. I've watched it happen in my own life and in the lives of others. And I know it's possible for you too, if you haven't already experienced it yourself. So this last month, the month of November of 2022, we've been talking about expanding past upper limits, we've got two episodes left. And today will hopefully be very helpful. The title of today's episode is kind of juicy. This is one thing that is prerequisite for personal success. And I'm going to launch into it. And I'm going to tell you what that one thing is. Before I do though, I want to say what I mean by personal success. This is not about money. This is not about the number on the scale. This is not about how big you can build your business. This is about whatever it means for you personally, to be the most expansive, boy bold, brave, courageous version of yourself. Very often, that leads to more money that leads to a bigger business that leads to being in better shape that leads to all kinds of wonderful things. But really, personal success is all about you being the biggest, most badass version of yourself. So the one thing that is a prerequisite for personal success is this. And it's changing the way that you think I talked about mindset this month, I think it was the second episode of the month. But we're gonna go deeper. Today, we're going to go into a little bit more of the nitty gritty, and maybe even stopping ourselves in our tracks, as we are thinking about things that don't serve us or that are not life affirming. If you're anything like me, you live a lot of your life in your head. I'm working on this, but it's true. And for many of us, our heads can be a dangerous Warzone like place, right? But it doesn't need to be this way. And it also doesn't have to be a super complicated process to undo these pathways of thinking just requires some attention. I also want to caveat, what I'm going to tell you by saying there are many of you who have been working for a long time on changing the way you think you meditate, you do affirmations, you're paying attention to your thoughts, and you are doing a fantastic job. Fantastic. So keep it up. And I think we can go deeper. It's easy living in the world we live in to be conditioned by society around us. And I'm going to give you an example. Okay. Think about Black Friday in the United States. Black Friday, it's the day after Thanksgiving. And it is notorious because there are all kinds of sales and promotions going on so people can get their Christmas shopping done or get deals on. Anything that you can think of leading up to it. People are making lists. A lot of us are starting to feel anxiety about all the sales and the money that's going to be spent You know, we're thinking like, is that thing going to sell out that thing that we really want, I'm gonna miss my window of opportunity. If I'm too late, my going to get that limited run on that thing my kid wants so badly. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves. And then you add in the money stress of so many of us overspending or putting things on credit cards not knowing when we'll be able to pay them off. And it creates this recipe for anxiety around the holiday season where we're overextending ourselves, which is really the opposite of what the holiday season is supposed to be about, which is bringing ourselves together and having a break, having some peace. I don't blame anyone, for feeling anxiety around Black Friday, for being conditioned into what the marketing machine in the United States does to us telling us we need this. And we need that. And we need to do this. And we need to do that. And if we can only have that one bag or that car or that, I don't know, grill, if you're a guy, then we will be complete, then we'll feel more like ourselves, then we'll be cool, then we'll be sexy, then we'll be attractive. I don't blame anybody for feeling this way. And I get caught up in it too. But what I'm realizing is, the more I expand past my upper limits, the more I think differently about pretty much everything. And so many of those things that I've realized I'm thinking differently about are things that I come up against every single day. So continuing on with Black Friday, for instance, I made a list of things to check on to see if I can get some deals, okay, I'm all about the deal. I love a good deal. But and I'm talking about like bed sheets and a new comforter, because I need those things. But I'm not allowing myself to get sucked into the frenzy. So this isn't about being black and white. This isn't about going for it or not going for it. It's about knowing yourself. It's about knowing your budget. And it's about knowing how you want to feel. I don't want to feel anxiety in the holiday season. I don't want to feel frenzied. I don't want to feel like I'm being sucked into debt. I just paid off my credit card. I don't want to go back into debt. Okay. So I'm not going to, and I'm not going to participate consciously, I'm consciously not going to participate in the anxiety that hitting Black Friday sales would give me so I'm not going to go out. I'm going to look online, see if there's anything and if there's not no big deal, because guess what, guys? That stuff. It's going to be around the next week it will be replenished. And if it's not the next week, it's the next month. It's not the end of the world. None of this is worth getting upset about or raising our cortisol levels for and beyond that. I'm paying closer attention to my consumption. I look around my home. My husband and I live in this super cool, mid century modern home. It's a little less than 1600 square feet. So it's not very big, but it's also not tiny. And I see that I have everything that I need everything. And in fact, I have more than I need. I'm going through my house and getting rid of things that don't bring me joy. And you know what really brings joy for me. So ironically, having a clean and tidy and organized home that doesn't have a bunch of stuff in it that requires energy and time and resources to take care of. So often when I've fallen into the debt trap or into the consumption trap, which guys I've had some issues with this. I talk about it I think in the first episode of this podcast episode number one I used to shop to deal with my anxiety. I wasn't a shopaholic, I didn't go like you know, 1000s and 1000s and 1000s and 1000s of dollars into debt. However, I did shop on a credit card, and I did shop to numb out and the crazy thing is, is so much of what I purchased during that time period I've already gotten rid of it was cheap, crappy stuff that in the moment gave me a high and now looking back. I have compassion for that girl who was struck billing for that woman who is struggling, but I have no desire to go back to that place. And I have no desire to have any of those items anymore. I want to have things in my home that bring me joy, things that serve a purpose and a function. And things that don't take up a lot of my time to clean and take care of. So Black Friday for me is like a red light. Stop, Think, Do I really need this? Is this going to make my life easier? It's going to make your life easier, then maybe it's a yes. Is this going to bring me lasting joy, this cool jacket? Is it going to bring me lasting joy? Or is it going to be something I'm going to wear a couple of times and then forget about. I've changed the way that I think about consumption. This episode is all about changing the way we think about everyday things about societal things, about personal things about money. Let's talk about money. I've changed the way that I think about money. It's no longer something that I fear on the daily. And guys, I've done so much work around this and my relationship with money. I've read a lot of books, I hired a money coach last year to help me change my relationship with money. And I'm still working on it too. So I'm not quite where I want to be yet. But the way that I think about money now is as a tool. I'm no longer yoked to my possessions. I'm not trying to prove anything, by the way that I dress or the car that I drive. I dress for my own pleasure and self worth. The vehicle I drive is one that brings me a lot of satisfaction, and joy to drive. Money is something that allows me to be generous. It allows me to build a life I love with my husband and my son and my dogs. Money is a tool for Dream building. It's not something I'm chasing after because I feel like it will make me feel significant. Do you hear the difference? This episode of self worth is powered by water and wellness and specifically Kitaen, hypertonic, and isotonic. It's no secret that our food system is totally messed up. Soil depletion, Factory Farming, pesticides etc, have caused our food to be less nutrient dense and therefore mineral deficient. I was reading a study from 1999 and it said that produce contains 38% fewer nutrients than it did in 1950. And that was in 1999. Imagine what it is now. Having my son really caused me to evaluate food and everything I bring into my home. We already eat organic but even organic food is still lacking in the minerals we need. This is problematic over the long run. Minerals are the body's sparkplugs. Guys, we need them for all of our systems to function properly. And if we are deficient in any minerals, over time it shows in our body through sickness, disease, and the breaking down of our overall health. Fortunately, we don't have to get to this point there are solutions and one of those amazing solutions and easy solutions are the Kington ampuls that contain every single mineral in the periodic table of elements. These minerals are harvested from Vortex blooms off the coast of France and literally contain every mineral your body needs. There are two types of Kington, hypertonic and isotonic. Here's what you can expect from the hypertonic. It provides a blend of more than 72 key elements and trace minerals that serve as cofactors for hundreds of biological activities. It supports restoration of essential cellular minerals that can be depleted from detoxification protocols intense physical activity and psychological stress supports function under intense periods of physical mental or emotional stress. It helps protect against fatigue and depletion from prolonged sympathetic nervous system activity, and it supports adrenal function and rebuilding protocols and so much more. Here's what you can expect from the isotonic. It provides an isotonic blend of more than 72 Key micro minerals and 92 trace elements. It promotes parasympathetic balance it helps calm nervous tension helps restore balance of the bio terrain supports digestive health and function I've definitely noticed that supports relaxation and restorative sleep. It's ideal for high achieving individuals to help restore nervous system balance after intense periods of stress or over exertion and it's excellent support to yoga and meditation practices and supports recovery after exercise. So guys, the isotonic and the hypertonic, my husband and I have been taking both of these. For months now I've noticed my skin has cleared and my digestion has improved, Sam skin has cleared his digestion and energy have improved, and even his toenails are growing healthy, he's had some like foot issues for many years. Anyway, this is one of the most powerful and effective supplements I have ever come across. Truly, I highly, highly recommend you take it as part of your daily regimen. This not only makes their products extremely effective, and I can attest to that because the first night I started using them, I noticed a difference the next morning one freaking night, but it also makes these products smell amazing like heaven. In addition, living libations products are cruelty free. They're Fairtrade and almost all the products are raw, gluten free and vegan. I cannot say enough about this incredible company. And dang guys, this is probably not what you might expect. Yes, I view food as fuel. And I eat clean and take great care of my body. But I also eat for pleasure. I cook and eat foods that are delicious and energy producing and stuff that makes my mouth water. I'm not depriving myself. I also indulge I ate a gluten free lemon olive oil cupcake last night after dinner. It's delicious. Sometimes I eat brownies, sometimes I eat gelato, food is no longer a way that I control my life or punish myself. Food is fuel and food is life enhancing and food is energy giving and food is pleasure. I listen to my body and respect it and give it what it needs. Another area of change the way that I think is in regard to my body. I struggled with anorexia for many years for those of you who have who have experienced eating disorders, and body dysmorphia. I am sending you an energetic giant hug right now because I know how difficult it is and I have had a difficult relationship with food and my body image for much of my life. I starved myself at times, I binge at times I purged at times, I hated what I saw in the mirror at times, I used to say no to things I wanted to do when I felt like I looked fat. I had horrible body dysmorphia. And guess what? It's not totally cured. And sometimes I still feel like I slipped back into being super critical of what I look like. However, my reaction now is so different. My reaction used to be, eat less, do more exercise, whip yourself into shape, be more disciplined. Now my reaction is gratitude. And I know that sounds so simple, but it is, I think about how my body has taken me all over the world. It allows me to move to love on other people to think, to spend time in nature, it made a human this past year, an entire human. My body is a miracle, I could cry right now just thinking about it. And it's done all this. While I was being mean to it, while I starved it. While I didn't nourish it properly, it's given me everything I could ever want and allowed me to experience things I have never dreamed of. That's how I think about my body now. And it's been at the forefront of my life recently. I'm now nine months postpartum, and I've plateaued on my weight loss. I'm still about seven pounds heavier than I was pre pregnancy. And that has forced me to do some thinking about my relationship with my body, and food. And the reason for this plateau and weight. It's due to my thyroid being out of balance. I've had several blood tests recently, and my thyroid has definitely been out of balance. And your thyroid gland regulates your hormones and your metabolism. And so it's understandable. But it's out of whack. My thyroid is out of whack primarily because I've allowed too much stress into my life over the last five months, and not enough rest. I didn't listen to my body signals for rest. And I talked about that in the podcast already. I think it was during October in the month of self care. I was traveling too much. I had some poor boundaries with family members that caused a lot of stress. And having a baby is hard. It's the best thing ever, like ever hand to heart. It is the joy of my life. But the lack of sleep, and then all the environmental stress that I allowed in over the last five, six months, it's taken a physical toll. So now, I keep telling my body this is my reframing. This is my changing the way that I think I tell my body I got you, I hear you. I'm taking action on protecting your peace, and giving you more rest and doing more things that fill you up instead of draining you. And I know that as you get what you need, you will naturally balance out and shed this extra weight. But for now, this extra weight is a blessing. Because it's teaching me how to treat myself better and better and better. And in the process. It's giving me the opportunity to act with more self worth. In so many areas of my life. Do you guys hear the importance and all of this? Another area of change my thinking is in the area of the unknown. We walk around with so much fear. It's in our media, it's in our upbringing, to in our society, it's in our conditioning. But I'm not waiting anymore when I feel fear. Or when I don't have any idea what to do next. I'm going for it. Y'all life is going fast and I want to die knowing I tried the things I wanted to try. I cannot play the game sitting on the bench. You cannot play the game sitting on the bench. Asking that amazing person who intimidates me to be on my podcast. Did it multiple times over hiring help in our business and for our baby? Did it done? We can't expand while acting out of fear. We have to keep it Moving forward, one foot in front of the other. Here's something to pay attention to think about the way you usually react to something. For instance, here's something to pay attention to. Okay? Your habits. Think about the way you usually react to something. For instance, you feel fear. So you say no, or you don't make a decision at all. Friends, if you want to expand, you have to change the way you think about fear. You don't have to be fearless. None of us are fearless. But you do have to act and move forward in spite of fear, or you will remain in the same place forever. So when a fearful thought bubbles up, and you have a default reaction that starts to bubble up, consider doing the opposite. If you would have gone home and gotten into your sweats and felt defeated, and turned on Netflix, don't do that. Take a walk without your journal and write down what you were feeling, and what you need to face in order to move forward and what that might look like every thought we think it carries energy. If we want higher frequency energy in our lives every day, then it makes sense that changing the way we think is a surefire way to achieve that right. And changing the way we think isn't about moving a mountain. It's about moving one small rock at a time, it's one thought at a time, when we start paying attention to our thoughts, we are able to address them and change them accordingly. We cannot get to a new place. If we keep taking the same road. We cannot expand our thinking. If we keep driving the same neural pathways, we have to switch things up. And this doesn't have to be a scary process. It can be incredibly exciting because we're empowering our lives. We are changing our lives for the better. There's also a domino effect that happens. When you successfully change one thought. You'll find that other ways of thinking bubble up and you begin to question those and then you start making more life affirming decisions, one at a time. And they build upon each other until you have this whole new frame for looking at the world and looking at your life and looking at your body and money and all of the important things right? It's all connected. All of it. So start with one thought, what's giving you anxiety right now? What's causing you fear? What's annoying you? How are you feeling about your life, your body, your self worth? Whatever it is, pinpoint the pain point? Then pay attention to the way that you think about it? How can you pour love on it? Meaning how can you speak to yourself in a more loving tone? What decision would the person you want to be next year? Make in regard to that thought? When we start living out who we want to be in the present moment, and even deeper? When we start thinking the way the person we want to become the thinks the world transforms before our eyes. And then it's impossible not to experience personal success as a result.
